Installation Loading Actions

Loading actions into CS & CC

There are a couple of different methods for loading or installing actions into photoshop.
The below instructions are the simplest of them.

After you have downloaded your action folder,  be sure to save your actions/atn files in a folder that is easy for you to find.

Open Photoshop, and click on the Actions Palette menu button (located in the top-right of the Actions Palette.
Select “Load Actions”
Select one of the .atn files from the download.
Repeat for the other .atn files if necessary

 

Loading/Installing actions in PSE

NOTE: Make sure photoshop elements is closed before loading actions.

1. Download the zipped file after purchase and save it somewhere you can easily find. You may need to copy it from your “downloads” folder if this is how your computer is set up.

2. Unzip the file by either double clicking or right clicking the file. Once inside, navigate to the “Elements “version” folder. Open and copy the atn and image (png or psd) files inside and                      paste them into the “photo effects” folder, which can be found by navigating here:

  Mac:
Hard Drive/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Photoshop Elements/8.0 9.0 or 10.0 /Photo Creations/photo effects
PC NOTE
In order to view some of the files below you may need to turn on your hidden files from the control panel.

   Windows XP:
C:/Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data/Adobe/Photoshop Elements/9.0 or 10.0/Photo Creations/photo effects

  Vista:
C:/ProgramData/Adobe/Photoshop Elements/8.0 9.0 or 10.0/Photo Creations/photo effects

LOADING BRUSHES INTO PHOTSHOP AND PSE

OPTION 1
Put the brush presets you have downloaded into the Photoshop/Presets/Brushes in
your adobe version folder. All brush files are .abr.

OPTION 2
Open photoshop or pse and click on your brush, click the pallet, the down arrow/dropdown menu
and click “load brushes”. Go to the folder where you are saving your brushes at and make your
selection. You will likely be promted with a PS message asking to append or reset, click append
to save other brush presets in your pallet.
